Runaway

Born to a Korean family in London, Riley had a very happy and normal childhood. Everyone loved him and he had a great time with friends and family alike. However when he turned fifteen his magic started to surface and he grew worried about it. So he hid it as best he could to make sure he wouldn't scare the people around him. For the most part it worked and he was able to return to having a normal life, even going to college when he was eighteen to study art.

But it was here that he began to encounter the Fae who revealed to him that he was a Fae child who had been deathly ill. They'd left him with the family and stolen the child. Now he had to pick which court he would follow and join them.

Asking for time to decide, he fled. Over the next few years he taught himself how to use his magic in order to hide from them and also learned everything he could about the Fae in general. Anytime he saw one he would move away again until he ended up in Los Angeles. Settling for working in a library, he found a place to live finally that he could call his own. At least for the time being.

More than anything he just wanted a normal life and he'd run as far as he could to keep being as human as possible.
